Steven Gerrard: Rangers manager set to join Aston Villa
Steven Gerrard is expected to be appointed the new Aston Villa manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Villa are set to finalise a deal to appoint the Rangers boss in the next 48 hours, with compensation of between £3.25-4m agreed with the Scottish club for Gerrard and his assistant Gary McAllister.

Gerrard, 41, has been in charge of Rangers since June 2018 and led the club to the Scottish Premiership title last season, ending Celtic's nine-year reign as champions.

Will be interesting to see if he can cut the mustard in England unlike that Fat Cunt Chelsea legend

I don't care for Ranger FC, but I find this a bit disappointing as he has said many times he is happy there and he is not finished what he wants to do there, to the point where he has been 'offended' when asked about other gigs. Football managers are like politicians, can't believe a word.

Still, will be interesting to see how he does at Villa, and I suppose it's a good thing for the PL that he's back, since he is such a big name here and globally.

1 trophy in 3 years is hardly worth writing home about when managing one of the Auld Firm.
He won the league to stop the Celtic 10 but no Cups?

Didn't mind Villa so much before Smith took over.

Somehow, I can't shake off my dislike of them now he's gone, so I hope this goes as pear-shaped as a space hopper.

Gerrard is a such a fucking miserable cunt it makes me detest him.

For someone who was as good as he was as a player and has already won title with Rangers he is desperately mardy and sour.

I just find him very unlikeable.

No need to remind us.
The single most painful memory of supporting West Ham.

As others have said managing Rangers is not the toughest managerial gig.
I he had, for instance, guided Aberdeen to multiple titles and European success that would be a different story.

Seen this on Twitter this morning :

“Strange that English clubs are looking at Steven Gerrard, who has won 1 out of 9 domestic trophies during his time in Scotland, despite his abundant resources.

Meanwhile, St Johnstone’s Callum Davidson has won 2 out of 3 trophies with zero resources”
